Please Help (Also: Awwwwwww)

Now that Daily Heights is the #1 Destination on the Internet for Free Kittens (Note: There are No Free Kittens(TM)), it’s very appropriate to highlight the following post in the Prospect Heights Message Boards:

nybt writes: “My wife, kind soul, has found a stray cat that needs a home and some TLC that we just can’t provide (we already have two cats, etc.). Can anybody provide a home for her or suggest a shelter where she can stay ’til she finds a home?”

UPDATE: “Either the cat is really constipated, or it’s very pregnant. If not for the very solid, very round belly, she’d be rail thin. .”

UPDATE to UPDATE: “Approximately 3 hours ago, Cat went in to labor! She has given birth to 5 black/gray/white bundles of joy! … Anybody need a kitten in two-three months?!”

UPDATE to UPDATE to UPDATE: “On a very sad note- the runt, named ‘Beatle’ by my wife’s co-worker’s son, died on Friday … It was a very sad day in house- I root for the underdog, and as such he was my favorite.”

“The remaining 4 are very healthy- they’ve tripled in weight and are just starting to open their eyes.”

FREE KITTENS: Good Friday Edition

CAT_0026.jpgWon’t someone please think of the kittens (or 4-year-old cats, as the case may be)?

Someone somewhere in New York writes on Craigslist: “We recently inherited a beautiful 4 year old cat. We already have 5 cats and really can not take her in. We have agreed to care for her temporarily while we search for a loving home. She is extremely nice and loving with people, very affectionate. She is however very jealous and make take some time to adjust if you have other cats. We would prefer her to be in a single cat household, however if you are good with cats and understand them a multiple cat household will be OK. We really would love to hear from you if you are interested. We thought about North Shore animal league, we adopted our cats from them, but really do not want to see her in a tiny cage. As she is 4 years old, the kittens usually get adopted and the older cats get stuck She needs a nice life. I will send photos and provide my cell number to any who are interested. Thanks.”

DAILYHEIGHTS: Now Internationally Known for Free Kitten Giveaways [UPDATED-Now with Corporate Mission Statement!]

cat-AIR-tn.jpg “Where can I find free kittens?” you may be asking yourself. Good question. As of right now, DAILYHEIGHTS is the seventh most popular place on the Internet to find free kittens.

This is especially remarkable because–if you’re new–this site has nothing to do with kitten giveaways. But that doesn’t matter, because finally, DAILYHEIGHTS has a Corporate Mission Statement: “To become the #1 Internet destination for free kittens, without actually giving away kittens, talking about kittens, or posting any free-kitten-related content.”

DAILYHEIGHTS moves – FREE KITTENS for everyone!

kitty_sml.jpgIf you can read this, you’ve made it to the new home of DAILYHEIGHTS. If you bookmarked or linked to the old Typepad site, please update! That site will be going dark very, very soon.
