So many changes! Is anything the same? Yes. Stacey and her husband are still Mad Hot.

We don’t mind this sign, too much… but others have expressed strong opinions about it.

From a NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign e-mail alert: “Click away! We all had a good victory last week, beating back a ban on photography in the subways. The Daily News had the story first, quoting the Campaign as rejoicing: “Everyone I spoke to thought you couldn’t impose a workable photo ban without violating both free speech and a sense of what the subways are all about,” Gene Russianoff said. “It’s part of the city’s life.”
“To tell a tourist from Ohio or New Yorker from Brooklyn they can’t take pictures of their family in the subway is nuts.”

Did you see this photo on Brownstoner? Taken during the last snowfall in Prospect Park? It was sent in by Stacey Duda. Thanks to an overwhelming backlog over here, BS scooped us on posting the photo, but Stacey promises an exclusive in the future: “you guys are my 2 favorite daily sites!”
And hey, here’s the full-size image, right here for you to click on.

Isitan writes us: “This picture was taken right in the middle of where I live and my wife’s shop, which was only 3 weeks old at the time (Sunday, Jan. 23). I was just crossing the street and wanted to capture Vanderbilt Avenue transformed to a white asphalt. I’m afraid there’s no story attached to the image other than this.
OK! I think that’s the last of the winter photos…

This is a panoramic night shot of the construction pit at 647-649 Washington Ave.(click to enlarge) where a “rag assorting” facility once stood.
It is my homage to Cornershots.com, which documents the travels of Jimmie, a Brooklynite and photo urbanologist, and his quest for the perfect image of cities after dark (though he does more than night shots, of course).
Somehow my pit panorama got lost in the queue, so the picture is a bit dated. What’s the latest behind that fence?
As previously reported here, this is likely to become a 7 story, 70-foot-high building, with 8 apartments and 12,200 total square feet.
