Congratulations to Prospect Heights on its new status as Neighborhood of the Year over on Curbed.com. This honor was bestowed upon our beloved ProHo (”ProHo?” inside joke, long story) on the basis of a democratic, scientific, statistically valid and meaningful poll in which anyone with an Internet connection can cast a vote:

“With 158 of 427 total votes (and some help from the zealots at DailyHeights), the cup passes from Fort Greene to Prospect Heights,” the Curbed people wrote.

Naturally, fans of DUMBO, LES, and SoBro (South Bronx) were fuming that Candicissima got out the vote, and now we’re all pouring champagne from our solid gold Curbed Cup into the gutters of “windy, desolate and dirty” Vanderbilt Ave. in front of its “ghetto” supermarket, “weak” bars and “segregated schooling, crime and awful restaurants… it might have fallen under a demilitarized zone in Ghostbusters.” (Actual real comment)

“Max” snarkily (and sharkily) retorts: “I agree this is totally a fraudulent poll. If you can’t trust a random internet site for valid scientific answers to such questions as ‘which neighborhood is best?’ or ‘who would totally win in a fight, a whale or 15 sharks?’ then how are we to live our lives?”
