This photo is taken in front of Biscuit on Flatbush Avenue. Biscuit is in my opinion the WORST excuse for a Southern bbq restaurant ever. It’s amazing to me that these people stay in business.

I haven’t eaten anything from their regular menu, but I did try their pig roast (which they only have once a month). The pig roast was great- smoky, juicy, and of course plentiful. I would definitely go back for that.

As a card carrying Tennessean I’ll say that I think Biscuit is pretty darn good.

I think the pulled pork sammitches and especially the seasoned fries {twice a winter I allow myself to eat them} are damned good. And I lived in the South for years.

I’m with you, DeeDee. I was totally unimpressed by the place and my friends rave about it.

Is it really fair for “The Vegan Vengeance” to comment on such a meat-centric establishment?

The ribs at Biscuit are an embarrassment to pork and the people who love it. And their namesake product is not even as good as the pre-made biscuit dough you buy in the supermarket and cook at home.

Whatev. I grew up in Connecticut, I’ve never been to Tennessee, and I think their pulled pork and cheesy grits are TAS-TY. I consider that as valid an opinion as any.

The ribs suck; overdone, not very smoky, batter fried chicken sucked, bland and not well seasoned. Biscuits sucked, my daughter makes better. Blue Smoke is the shit! Plus, there’s jazz downstairs

biscuit is bland, flavorless and awful. very disappointing.

Biscuit is overpriced and bland, like most every other BBQ joint in this city. I’m from the South, and although you can get all kinds of swell food in this city, BBQ and fried chicken are not really among them. I’ve been to Sweetwater (I think that was it) and Mama Duke’s, and they’re ok, but a fried chicken dinner should cost $7, tops. $11 for BBQ, and there should be a plentiful serving.

That said, I hope Mama Duke’s reopens on Vanderbilt. Biscuit can disappear for all I care.
